U.P. tops the list . It produces around 177.43 million tons of sugarcane on an annual basis. Meerut, Bareily, Saharanpur, are the major producers of sugarcane.
2. Maharashtra
Maharashtra ranks second in the list by producing 113.3 millions tons of sugarcane annually. Solapur, Pune, Aurangabad, Satara, & Ahmednagar, are the major producers of sugarcane.
3. Karnataka
Third on the list is Karnataka, that produces 56.45 million tons of sugarcane on an annual basis. The major sugarcane producing districts are Shimora, Belgaum, & Chitradurga.
4. Tamil Nadu
Next is Tamil Nadu, with 14.5 million tons of sugarcane producing on an annual basis. Madurai, Theni, Dindigul, are the major producers of sugarcane in Tamil Nadu.
5. Bihar
The last on the list is Bihar. It produces 13.9 million tons of sugarcane annually. The major sugarcane producing districts in Bihar are Patna, Gaya, Champaran, & Darbhanga districts.
