Maharashtra The state contributes 14% to the total millet production and the major millet crops grown are Sorgum and Jowar.
Uttar Pradesh The state has a contribution of 12%, and has produced 21,71,836 million tonnes of millets in 2020.
Gujarat It has a contribution of 7% to the total share of millet production in India, and the main millet crops grown are Bajra and Pearl millet.
Madhya Pradesh It has a contribution of 6% to the total millet production in the country, and has produced 1.30 lakh tonnes of millet in 2023.
Tamil Nadu The state has a contribution of 5% to the total millet production in the country, and the major millet crops grown in the state are Jowar and Little millet.
